My Hearts and Stars

These are the bake sale cookies. They are all homemade. These are the most specialist cookies I have possibly made yet. Why? Because I did not even put my hand in to taste. And, these cookies give you extra energy because they are ..... (drum roll, please) .... They are Sugar Cookies!! Sugar cookies sound pretty unhealthy, but it is sometimes good to eat unhealthy.

But these have extra sugar everywhere. On the top, on the inside and everywhere you can even think about. Once, I was making sugar cookies and my mom accidentally opened the mixer with out closing the power and it went all over the place so we started licking everywhere to eat the batter. It was the best day of my life.
here are the cookies in a plastic container ready to be taken to the bake sale
These cookies are specially made by me because I am very kind to bake sales and I wanted to support my awesome school. These cookies are stars and hearts, as you can see, because I love hearts and I love stars.  And it kind of rhymes too. Listen to it again... my hearts and stars.. to be honest, it is kind of poetic and relaxing. Just like these cookies which are a comfort food, or a comfort dessert.

When you eat the hearts, it feels like the hearts make an extra heart for you, out of sugar. A tip, if you would like, is do not crush oatmeal to make flow because oatmeal destroys these cookies, you have to use fine white flower for these sweeties. Another tip: is if you want these cookies to be very delicious, serve them warm.

The Flower Food

Hi. This food is a kind of flower. A lot of people think it is disgusting to eat it. BUT IT IS THE BEST, AND NOBODY CAN DEFEAT DANDELIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is my favorite vegetable (and if you try it, it might be yours too).

You actually don't eat the flower part. You eat the greens, the leaves. I am going to tell you how to make it. First, boil the dandelions and squeeze all the water out. Then thinly slice 3 cloves of garlic and put them in olive oil in a frying pan. By the way, that is what I am doing here in the picture.
that's me in the kitchen
Then, once the garlic is sizzling and almost light brown, add the dandelions in the frying pan too. secret: after I stir the dandelion in, always eat some.... muah, muah, muah

Look at me stirring the dandelions in the pan. It is hard to stir it because you do not want to scrape the pan, but you want to get everything nice and mixed together.

In the end add some red pepper and lots of salt. Viola, that is my dandelions. And they are really good for you too. The End.

My Healthy Chocolate Delight Cookies

Why are these cookies very healthy? I will tell you the answer. Please don't tell ANYBODY else. This is a secret. I put oatmeal in my cookies to make them healthy. And put chocolate chips and cocoa powder to make it brown, sweet and delicious. These cookies are actually just normal chocolate chip cookies with oatmeal and cocoa powder. They are very delicious, secret: don't let anybody eat the batter.......(except yourself :-))

Are you ready for your close-up, cookie?
You can see the chips, you can see the oatmeal, but you can't taste it. By the way, I actually put a cup of oatmeal and I didn't taste it at all!

Future Me

When I grow up, I might actually want to be an owner of a pastry shop. As you know, I am a really good cook. This is how I want my pastry shop to look like. I built this all in one day. Today. It is called Zatby's Cakes!

As you can see, on the top left corner, there is a nice big clean bathroom. On the lower left, there is a nice beautiful clean kitchen for me and my staff to make the cakes. Can you see the little lady in the shop?
That lady will get the things you want on your cake, and she will tell the baker and the baker will make it. When it is finished, there is a window so the baker can give me the cake to give the customer.  There will be no door for the public because I don't want anyone to see the secret recipes.
There are chairs and different colored tables for my customers to sit one and eat their tasty treats. I am not only a pastry shop owner, I am a legendary baker and food cooker.
This is one of my employees. her name is Dancee. Isn't she so fancy? Well let's say it together: Yes Miss Awesome Cake Maker. Well here, at least you got some cakes.

Honey crisp

Hello my name is Zeynep. This is my spectacular honey crisp maple syrup pancakes. So, how I made these pancakes are actually the normalist kind you can ever think of. It is just normal pancake mix (multigrain is better). I just made that pancake mix, then I just made it. I had an idea -- a honey crisp spectacular. So please come here. My dad is a professional honey comb maker. We have bee hives. He makes honey from head to toe. I took one hone comb and I smooshed it as much as I can, and there is honey drops all over the pancakes. As you can see. Then I put maple syrup on to make the drops crispier and crispier and maybe even crystallized. So, I was thinking if I did that and I just left it there, I wanted to see what happened. And guess what happened ... DELICIOUSNESS.

Ciao, amici!

The Chocolate Drain

This is me. Very tired. Have to get dressed to go to a friend's house. Have to make cookies in 30 minutes. What a hassle. But, would awesome cookie master give up? (say it with me) NO!
To be professional at baking, you gotta know these rules. One, never tell your sister, brother or anyone else, what you are making. (Or else they will eat the batter) Then we will not have enough cookies!

As you see in this picture. I just put the cookies in the oven. You see how they are moist. The cookies are not like that when they come out. Please don't get grossed out. Well to be honest, there is nothing to get grossed out about.

This is how the cookies look after they are baked.
Nice and brown. When you bite into chocolate runs out into your throat. That's how you want your cookies. MMMM mmmm MMMMMM. bye.

Let Your Dreams Come True

With green for mint and pink is my favorite color, worlds have been having trouble making cake. As I, the master of cake making have told you that cakes are very important on your birthday and other days practically. This cake is called a cupcake cake. It is a little small. It is supposed to be bigger, but who cares.

The important thing is the taste.

Why I made this cake... Is because it was my grandma's (nonnina) birthday. I thought that green and pink are a good match. Green is not my favorite color, but pink -- I will fall for it.

This cake is one of my spectacular specialties. I, myself, (I don't care if you do), but I hate vanilla cakes. Have you ever seen a vanilla cake on my blog yet? No. And you never will. This cake is moist, spongy, chocolatey inside. Not one of those junky kinds with hardness. No factory will ever have this kind of cake. And I am only 8 and I make the best cakes EVER! Some people don't even have birthday cakes. Too bad for them. Now look at this cake closely and feel it in your mouth.. Yum

This is a called my frosting hamburger. With a little cute smiley face on it. There was extra frosting, so I thought I would use it instead of throwing it out. SO I thought, why don't I make a hamburger?

I put pink frosting in the middle (oh, my mouth is watering. let me wipe it). The top with green frosting, as you see. When I bit into this, your mouth dissolved. I put pink candies on top.

This cake/hamburger will make your energy level higher than eating one small cupcake. Kachow.

Get the Basil Out

As you know some people really don't like basil. That is why my post's name is GET THE BASIL OUT!

Maybe even you do not like basil. But, this basil is fresh. How I made this pasta is: I made it nice and sticky so the tomato sauce can stick to it. So you don't have to leave any tomato sauce on the plate, because tomato sauce is actually really healthy.

I put water in a pot. I put salt in the water. Then when the water started to boil, I put the nice, sticky past in -- well it was not sticky then. I cooked it a little extra.
About 11 minutes total. I left it in a little more so it got really sticky. So I thought I would make tomato sauce. While my tomato sauce was cooking, I went outside and got some fresh basil. You can suck on basil, chew it or throw it out, which I don't want you to do.

The basil stood up because I made it a little crooked and inside the sauce. As you know, it is not easy to be a professional chef, like me. So open your ears nice and wide so you can be one like me. Ciao!

My Little Minty 'Wiches

My little minty 'wiches  (as in sandwiches) are very famous for me. It is the first time I ever made them and I hope it is for you too. The ganache I made for inside the cookies was very easy and very minty. And that is how I like it because when the cookies are done, you can just take one cookie and dip it into the sauce and it is like a mint party going into you mouth. You make the ganache sauce by putting 6 ounces of chocolate chips (I like Ghiradelli) into a sauce pan, but before you put the chips in the pan, you boil 1/4 cup of heavy cream in the pan on medium fire. Then you stir in the chips and stir stir stir, add 1 small teaspoon of mint extract. If you think it is too minty (although I don't think so), then you can put a little less mint extract. But if you don't have mint extract, you have to change the name of the cookies. I hope you like them. Bon appetito!

these are how they look (rolled out on powdered sugar) before I baked them

These are how those delicious witch cookies look when you bake them.

This is how they look when you put the mint chocolate sauce in.

Viola, I mean Voila!

That's me, almost going to eat it in the morning with kaymak, but I didn't eat them
with some delicious mint chocolate milk! (which I did drink in the morning)

This is my pretty design. I tried to make it like it was in a commercial and I tried my best. Have fun. Eat well.
Good bye.

My Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies (w/recipe this time)

Well you first have to take the butter (2 sticks) and microwave it to room temperature. And then, put sugar (1 3/4 cups) with the butter in the mixing Kitchen Aid. Speed the mixer until light and fluffy. You know it is light and fluffy by tasting it (that is another confession) Just talking about it makes my mouth water. SLURP.
Take two eggs out of the fridge and add them into the mixing bowl one at a time. After it is mixed with the sugar and butter add vanilla extract (1 tsp). While you make the mix sit, in a regular bowl put flour (2 1/2 cups) any flour, even brown flour which tastes really good, and baking soda (1 tsp) and a leetle traditional Zatby pinch of Kosher salt. You pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients a leetle bit at a time, while it is mixing on low. After that you can put any kind of chips -- but not zee chips zat you put in salsa. You can put vanilla chips, dark seasoning chocolate chips, which I think you should use and my least favorite unfortunately, milk chocolate chips. Just remember my last little baby confection and put any kind of secret ingredients you want (but I cannot tell you my secret ingredient). If you want to lean on me, tell me what your secret ingredient will be in the comments below.

Put the oven, maybe if you burn everything in your oven, at 350 degrees, but if you are not busy and look at your cookies like they are your own babies put the oven on 375 degrees, if you have the responsibility. You gotta cook your little babies for 10-13 minutes, but if you have your oven on 350 and you almost burn everything you ever eat, you should look at them at 7-10 minutes. I hope you enjoy them and i hope you didn't burn your babies because they are so precious! And delicious. Good bye my friends/cookie babies.

With milk, this is one of my best secret ingredients or coffee with milk for children or regular coffee or a misto for adults. Whoops I just said my secret ingredient. Now you gotta tell me yours or else it won't be fair.

The Slippery Pizza

When I started to grate cheese, I was so into it. Then I was thinking how my pizza would be so delicious or would my Babacik make it better? I was thinking and thinking until I was so lost in my dream that I would slide on pizza. That is why I call this the Slippery Pizza.

I snacked on the mozzarella while I was grating. (that was just a confession)
The uncooked white pizza with the confession in it.

This red margarita seasoning pizza was made by Zeynep also. Also known as NuNu.

Viola, I mean Voila. Taste it if you listen to me. I hope you like it. Now first taste it and you will get how it is actually made.

Zatby's Mozzarella Pasta

This is the best kind of pasta you have tasted. I could not even say wagga wooga wagga when I ate this delicious pasta. Now, you gotta listen to me, put your listening ears on, please. Well, what you do is you get a pan with water inside it and a little bit of salt. Then when it is boiled you put the pasta in and cook it for 5-10 minutes until it is good, delicious. After it is cooked, you put a little red pepper, black pepper, sage, and two balls of mozzarella cheese on the side. There you have it.

IF YOU ASK ME AGAIN, HOW TO MAKE IT, YOU WILL MISS IT. THAT WILL BE A BIG BAD MISTAKE. BECAUSE IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY LIKE ME, YOU GOTTA MAKE THIS PASTA CORRECT. LIKE I SAID, IN THE BEGINNING, I COULDN'T EVEN SAY WAGGA, WOOGA, WAGGA, BECAUSE I AM DELIGHTFULLY MOUTH-FILLED. JUST LOOKING AT IT WHILE I WAS COOKING MADE MY MOUTH WATER SO BAD, IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. I HOPE YOU CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE IT. GOOD BYE. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!!!!!

The Three Great Exagerating Popcorns

These three popcorns will be the best choice in the world because THEY ARE SO YUMMY IN MY TUMMY.
t
YUMMY
How I made it is, first I put three popcorn kernels in oil in a pot. Choose whatever oil you want, I use olive oil. Turn the heat on medium, then when those three popcorns pop, you put the rest of the popcorns in and turn the heat on low. You can put as many kernels as you want -- and that is the excitement! Because you don't know how much popcorn you are going to get, like moi.
IN MY TUMMY
After all your popcorn popped, LIKE THIS, you can put it in three groups, or more and put whatever you want inside it. You may get a suggestion from me. Instead of eating the popcorn plain, eat it like me.

Sugar, Salt, Normal

The first bowl on the left corner is sugary -- I made it by putting sugar in it, after it was cooked. The second bowl on the right corner is ... salty -- I made it by putting salt AFTER it was cooked. Now, the one in the middle, is normal, maybe the one you eat. Well, that is why it is in the tiny bowl there because the two other bowls are the best I ever ate from me.

Turkish Breakfast

That morning, I woke up the earliest person. I think it was 6:00 in the morning. I ran over to the kitchen and played a game. I was pretending my mom was waiting for me and I was the chef. So, I needed to be quick. That is how I got myself running in my business. And my business is in the picture -- making Turkish breakfast. So, in the picture, there are delicious eggs, cheese, hot chocolate, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, water and bread. And I set and designed the table myself.

In Turkiye, we usually have tea, but unfortunately, I did not know how to make tea. Instead, I made delicious hot chocolate. I set up the paper napkins, even though my abla tells me to use cloth napkins. In her blog, she is talking about global warming, here is a link

The Superstition Cake

If you don't believe me that I made this cake all by myself, well that's too bad for you, because I did. I worked for three hours or more after school making the cake. I made it for my abla's birthday. This cake is three layers, believe it or not, you can count.
This cake is called the superstition cake because it is super-tasty.

This is the most delicious cake batter that I have ever tasted!!
